5th Red Bull Nanshan Open Final ¨C Daaaaamn!

January 7, 2007

Beijing, CHINA - We really could not have asked for a better day. The crowd was stoked, the music was bumping and the weather was picture perfect. People from as far as Russia came to check out some of the best park riding out there so far this season as DJ Wordy and local Beijing punk bands Reflector and SKO rocked all day long under a clear sky with not a cloud in sight. The riders were on fire, as most of them were stoked to ride a park for the first time this season.

The guys warmed up for an hour before the start and we instantly knew we were in for a great show. The
crowd made their way to the course to see by far the sickest riding we have ever seen on Chinese soil.
With sunshine, free flow Red Bull and commentary in local Beijing Putong Hua, China really lived up to its reputation as the ¡°land of smiles¡±.

As the16 International and 3 Local Chinese wild cards took course, conditions could not have been better.
With a slight breeze for the qualifying round, the wind died down and the snow softened up as the day went
on. The guys were killing it out there. Mone was the first to set the bar with going huge over the first big kicker and Air Japan showed their neighbors how it¡¯s done. Atsushi, Ruiki and Naoya owned the Nokia Nanshan Mellow Park. Everyone was killing it and the level of riding got better and better as the day went on.

Only 8 were to progress into the final and the decision for the top spots was tough. Tadej Valentan came out
on top for the first round with a sick BS 7, a FS 360 and a Boardslide on the box. Other highlights included China¡¯s only professional snowboarder Wang Lei hitting the big kicker pulling an insane Rodeo 5 and
popping Front Flips as he continued down the course. As the field was narrowed down, the weather went
from nice to perfect.

Hampus Mosesson was the big winner of the day. His first run was super solid with a BS 7 over the big
kicker, a FS 360 Shifty and a 360 Bonk on the Quiksilver Barrel to finish it off. Second place went to two-time Nanshan Open competitor Kalle Ohlson as he was on fire today. He pulled a super sick HUGE BS 7 over
the big kicker, a FS 5 and a 270 On/270 Off on the huge Fun Box. Coming in third was young gun Austin Smith who showed a BS 7, a FS 7 and an Indy to Fakie on the Wall Ride at the end.

Thanks to everyone who came out today and for making the 5th Red Bull Nanshan Open by far the most
insane snowboard event in China ever. A special thanks to our sponsors Red Bull, Nokia, Quiksilver,
Deeluxe and Gibson. See you all next year!

Red Bull Nanshan Open is the Best!

Beijing CHINA ¨C The 5th Red Bull Nanshan Open was off to a great start today claiming two first place
finishers just 66 km outside the capital. With high winds as the only factor, HUGE obstacles, the sunshine
and DMC Champ DJ Wordy kept everyone super stoked. Both international and local riders were going off. China has never seen such a high level of riding before and everyone can¡¯t believe the progression of local talent in just this past year. Competition was so fierce the judges were forced to make a split decision after
a long and difficult debate over who should walk away 10,000 kuai richer. Each of the 10 local snowboarders, who were chosen based on their results from the Mellow Snowpark Tour, were honored to ride along side some of the world¡¯s top riders and all get props for they truly are the most talented shredders in the country.

The park was given the mother of all makeovers last weekend as Tommy ¡°Mellow¡± Marsh was brought in
for the job. Nanshan and Nokia should be proud of their park, as it is so big you can actually see the kickers from the Jing Cheng Express 10km away from the resort. The butter box sits 7m above the ground and the largest jump has over 17m flat. Everyone is impressed by the park, as this is by far the best terrain we have
ever had up in the PRC.

While the 17 invited International pros schooled the monster park, the crowd of screaming fans were given
a lesson in style. Wanglei (PRC) was the first to get the crowd amped with a huge FS Rodeo 5 over the first kicker and laid out backflips.
Favorite for the grand prize, Andrew Wilde (PRC) was out due to a broken wrist, leaving the top slot to the
rest of the crowd. Tian Yu (USA) and Cheng Jinghui (PRC) both took their share of the cash and advance to tomorrows main event. They will compete with in the pro division for their chance at the 100,000 kuai grand
prize and 550 Ticket to Ride Points. Tian Yu had some good bails, but got back up to stomp a huge switch
BS 180 and FS 5¡¯s while Cheng Jinghui did some sick backflips and went the biggest out of everyone out
there today. Li Xianyi, the young gun brought it by hitting the big kicker first out of everyone and sticking
some nice shifty shifty maneuvers.

The Nanshan Open is the first Ticket to Ride event on Chinese soil and has attracted some of the world¡¯s
top snowboarders over the years. The event is special for its main purpose is to give the relatively new
Chinese snowboard scene a taste of what is possible on a snowboard, not to mention give the top locals
a chance to shred with the big dogs. We can hardly contain our excitement for if the level of riding today is
any indication of what tomorrow holds, we are in for a great show. For all of you guys who missed out today,
see you here tomorrow for the pro division contest.

The 5th Red Bull Nanshan Open is brought to you in part by Nokia, Quiksilver, Deeluxe and Gibson. For more, check out www.mellowparks.cn or www.ttrworldtour.com.
